OTU #75 - Holy Week in Guatemala; Celebrating #75

We're back safe and sound from Guatemala. We had a wonderful time working in the Mission of San Lucas in San Lucas Toliman and sharing in all the wonderful Holy Week activities. In this episode, we just scratch the surface with a little soundseeing of our time there.

We're also celebrating our 75th episode! Thanks you to all of our loyal listeners for supporting us for the last year and a half. We really appreciate it!

Congratulations to our contest winner, Dulce! Here's a photo of the cool wood carving that we brought back as a prize for those leaving us feedback. You guys are great!

In our "Question of Faith" segment, we tell each other what we love most about being Catholic.

What do you love most? Send us some feedback and we'll be sure to include it in one of our upcoming episodes.

Happy Easter to all and thanks for listening. Email us at ontheu [at] gmail.com, leave a comment here or at www.sqpn.com or call us at 918-919-0456.

Last Call!

As we approach episode #75 of OntheU, we'd love to have some audio feedback from some of our loyal listeners! Let us know what you think of our little podcast.

I brought back something really cool from our Holy Week trip to Guatemala. A wooden carving/puzzle of two toucans. This was made in the town of Santiago Atitlan, on the shores of Lake Atitlan. It's sure to be a fun conversation piece!

Everyone who leaves us a message on our feedback line (+1-918-919-0456) will be entered into a contest to receive this cool gift. You have until noon (US Central Daylight Time) on March 27, 2008 to enter. We'd love to hear from you.

Happy Easter!

OTU #74 - Spring Break Fever!

Spring Break is upon us and the students are going crazy! In this episode we discuss just how little work gets done in days just before leaving campus.

Since many people will be traveling this spring and summer, we discuss a very helpful website. Check out www.masstimes.org to find the Mass times for the nearest parish. Don't forget that

Did you hear the news about the "New Seven Deadly Sins"? Not so fast! Have a listen to what Bishop Girotti actually said.

Here's a Zenit.org article that helps to clarify things.

Not sure what happens during Holy Week? The gang gives a brief bit of encouragement to attend the fabulous liturgies of Holy Thursday, Good Friday, the Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday. Check it out!

Lastly, we have a "soundseeing" report from the annual Work Day at the Our Lady of the Annunciation Monastery, here in eastern Oklahoma. Our group of students and young adults worked on fencing a new sheep pasture for the monastery. Have a listen!

You still have time to give us feedback for our 75th episode. Leave us feedback at 918-919-0456 and be entered into a drawing for something nice from Guatemala! You won't be disappointed!

Thanks for listening to OntheU! We're thrilled that you check us out!

OTU #73 - The Nap Trap

In this episode the guys discuss "The Nap Trap" - the perils of sleep deprivation for college students, whether taking a nap is a good thing or not, and how to improve your sleep habits. Just in time for midterms!

Learn more about college sleep habits at the University of Michigan Health Service website at:
http://www.uhs.umich.edu/wellness/other/sleep.html

Later, Paul St. Romain and Aaron Guernsey bring their guitars to the studio for the world podcast premiere of their song called "The Catholic Blues," slightly irreverent but really fun!

Welcome to all of our new listeners! Thanks for giving us a listen. We'd love to have your feedback, ideas for discussion, questions of faith, and funny stories about college life.

If you leave us audio feedback on our feedback line at 918-919-0456, we'll enter you in our 75th episode drawing!
