OTU #70 - Leap of Faith February: LaSallian Volunteers and Tulsa's Day Center for the Homeless

Leap of Faith February: 2nd in a series!

This week, we're talking about an upcoming trip to serve dinner at Tulsa's Day Center for the Homeless. The Tulsa Day Center exists to offer people a safe haven, resources for self-sufficiency and opportunities to acquire new skills. People who are able to meet their immediate and urgent needs can then collect their inner resources and make positive life changes for themselves and their children. You can learn more about this important organization by going to www.tulsadaycenter.org.

Zac Ufnar, a LaSallian Volunteer at Tulsa's San Miguel School, drops by to talk about the struggles and rewards of being a first year volunteer teacher at a school for "at risk" middle school students. He speaks honestly about their efforts to build a supportive community around their academic environment. Learn more about the LaSallian Volunteers work in faith, service and community at www.lasallianvolunteers.org.

Is there an organization that you're passionate about? One that serves the poor or educates others about the needs of the poor? Let us know! We're looking for more organizations to highlight during our "Leap of Faith February" episodes.
