OTU #71 - Leap of Faith February: Catholic Charities

Leap of Faith February continues with Part 3 of this month's theme of sharing with our listeners information about individuals and organizations that are serving the needs of the poor.

In this episode, Lisa Hendey of the Catholic Moments Podcast and catholicmom.com speaks with Steve about her support of Catholic Charities. Most dioceses in the US have a Catholic Charities organization that works for the individual needs of the people in their diocese. Lisa and Steve share a little bit about the organizations in Tulsa and Fresno. Catholic Charities is great way to get involved in your local community. To learn more, check out the following links:

The students here at the University of Tulsa were saddened to learn about the death of a freshman student last weekend, from an apparent drug overdose. We plan to dedicate an episode to this issue in the future, but the students do discuss their immediate reactions and how the campus is dealing with it.

On a lighter note, we wrap up this episode with a lively discussion of how to choose movies to watch, especially among a group of students. How do you choose movies when there are diverse tastes? Action movies? Chick-flicks? Rom-Coms?

A good 'rom-com' movie for 'mixed' crowds is "Holiday" - apparently a chick flick, but I guarantee the guys will get into it as well. It's hilarious! :)

Thanks for the comment Kimberly! I haven't seen that movie yet, but I'll run it pass the gang to see what they say.
