OTU #65 - Back in the Saddle

In this episode, we're "back in the saddle" as the spring semester begins. As Pat begins his final semester as an undergraduate, we briefly discuss resumes, interviews, job hunting and all the other busyness of his final semester.

In our Good Student segment, we discuss using the Web to buy textbooks. Are you getting ready to buy books? Check out what has to offer through the SQPN store at Your prices don't change but SQPN gets a portion of the profits!

Bryan Ketterer, a seminarian for our diocese and a graduate of the University of Tulsa, dropped by to tell us how his first semester of seminary was. Have a listen and pass this along to anyone you know who might be considering a religious vocation!

Our Good News segment is about the Mayor of Oklahoma City's plan to get his city off the list of America's Fattest Cities. He has challenged his citizens to lose 1 million pounds in 2008. Check out their progress at

We are really blown away by all the new listeners to OntheU! We are very pleased that you are giving us a listen. We would also be blown away if you sent us some feedback. Leave a message on our blog at, email us or call our feedback number.

I've just discovered your podcast (thru SQPN), and today's episode (#65) had JUST the sort of information I was hoping to glean from the series! :)

Now, it's been a long, long (long) time since I was in college (graduated '85), but my son will be starting in the fall. He doesn't know it yet but he's gonna be subscribed to this podcast real soon... :P

The hints on buying textbooks were VERY helpful - that was always a challenge when I was in school, but that was *sigh* before the internet (my first year computer classes actually involved mainframes, fortran and punchcards) and much has changed!

Thanks for all you do - looking forward to your 'casts...
