OTU #53 - Camping; Meeting Fr. Roderick!; Exploring Augustinian Religious Life

In this episode Pat, Stephen and Steve talk about a recent campout with the College Knights of Columbus. We went to nearby Lake Keystone for a beautiful fall evening of fellowship and grilled steaks!

This week Steve traveled to Fort Worth to attend Fr. Roderick Vonhögen's presentation at the local "Theology on Tap" event. Fr. Roderick is the founder of, the terrific network of Catholic podcasts. If you've never been over to and tried out the audio and video podcasts they produce, you truly don't know what they are missing.

Here's a link to the Daily Breakfast episode with Fr. Roderick's presentation.

Some of our favorites SQPN shows are: Daily Breakfast, Rosary Army Podcast, SaintCast and "That Catholic Show."

We end this episode with a "Question of Faith" segment where Stephen talks a little about his on-going discernment of religious life. He recently traveled up to Chicago for a visit with the Augustinian Order. Hear what that visit was like and how it fits into his decision process.

Thanks so much for listening. We still need your own "questions of faith" that we can use during our upcoming simulcasts with the good folks at the BustedHalo Cast. Reach us on Skype at our "ontheu" address, or call our feedback line at 918-919-0456.

Exciting things are happening with the "On the U" podcast! Thanks for joining us for the ride!

OTU #52 - Improv; Relics; St. Maria Goretti; Simulcasting with BustedHalo

Our Newman Center received a relic of St. Maria Goretti this week, so we talk a little bit about relics in this episode.

St. Maria Goretti, proposed by Pope Pius XII as the patroness of modern youth, is a great example of chastity, forgiveness and redemption. It would be well worth your time to learn more about her. Here are some links that you may find interesting:

OTU #51 - Freshman Retreat; Scrabulous; Seminarians; Homecoming

In this episode we report on our recent Freshman Retreat. It was fun and successful, just not exactly what we planned.

We also talk about a recent addiction to the game "Scrabulous". It's taking over our world!

Our friend Bryan, a seminarian for the Diocese of Tulsa, sent an article about the recent uptick in the number of vocations in the US. You can read the article by following this link:

The Catholic Spirit - Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis.

We end this episode with a little soundseeing during the University of Tulsa's Homecoming bonfire and fireworks celebration.
