In Santiago de Compostela

Hi folks! Another quick note to let you know that Jim, Tom and I arrived safely in Santiago de Compostela this morning, just in time for the daily Pilgrim's Mass in the Cathedral. It was awesome!

We left the town of Arca do Pino at 6am, walking through dark foggy forests until the sun came up. It was a great way to start the last day on "the camino."

I'll tell you more about it when I get home, but we figure we walked about 215 miles in 13 days, over several mountain ranges, and up and down more hills that I want to think about. I've learned to be very thankful for the flatness of Oklahoma!

One funny bit ... I took a bit of a tumble this morning (I swear I didn't see that step!) and scraped up my knee. I didn't think too much about it until I noticed that I was leaving blood on the kneeler during Mass. I must have looked like the real rugged pilgrim!

Buen Camino!
Steve

Look after that knee!

I'm really glad you've had a great time on the Camino. The Galician countryside is wonderful at any time, but when it's what you're seeing as you finish the "Way of Hope" then it takes on a special aura.

I can't wait to get the next episode of OnTheU, to find out about the adventures.

Blessings
