OTU #35 - The Tragedy at Virginia Tech; A Challenge: Random Acts of Kindness

A Challenge: Seek out random acts of kindness!

In this episode, we discuss the sad events at Virginia Tech, where a student, turned gunman, killed over 30 people. Our hearts and our prayers go out to everyone affected.

In a world where tragedies like this seem to happen every day, we challenge our listeners to seek out and perform random acts of kindness. Just one a day to see how even little things can change the world for the better. Will you accept the challenge? Tell us how you do by emailing us at onthe [at] gmail.com.

This Week's Trivia Question: Pope Benedict recently celebrated his birthday. How old is he? Send your answers via email to ontheu [at] gmail.com before the end of April to be entered into our monthly drawing for $10 on the iTunes store.

Tragedy at Virginia Tech

As someone who spends every day on a college campus, usually a place somewhat sheltered from the realities of the outside world, I am finding it very difficult to grasp the tragedy that has struck the Virginia Tech community.

So much pain is caused by violent deaths, of any kind, but those of young people are particularly awful. So much potential good that these lives might have provided our world is now gone.

Please pray for all those who were killed, their families, friends, and especially the entire college community.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord.
And may perpetual light shine upon them.
May their souls and the souls of all the faithfully departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Amen.
